How to Train Your Husky’s Basic Manners

Huskies are intelligent dogs, and their intelligence ranks among the top of dog breeds. Additionally, every dog can be trained, it just depends on the difficulty of the training. However, our Huskies are notorious for having poor obedience and a strong personality. They are also known for their free-spirited nature, making them a disorganized and undisciplined breed. Once a Huskies goes out the door, they usually ignore their owner’s instructions and do whatever they want. If the owner shows weakness, they may be subjected to the Huskies’ antics. They can run around the street with the sky as their limit. So let’s learn the basic etiquette of training Huskies!

Here are our training methods for teaching your Siberian Husky to shake hands and lie down. You can try them out and guarantee that your beloved Siberian Husky will be obediently following your commands. When your Siberian Husky has mastered both of these skills, it will be a very cool thing to take them out with you. Shake hands with your friends and your Siberian Husky.

The method is to first have the Siberian Husky sit down on its left side, then the owner takes a step back with their left leg and crouches, holding the dog’s two front paws with their hands and giving the command “lie down”. The owner then extends the dog’s two front paws forward and presses down on the dog’s shoulder with their left arm. When the dog lies down correctly, immediate praise and reward should be given. Remember, do not punish the dog when it does something wrong or fails to obey, instead, immediately pat its head and give it praise when it does something right. Encouragement is always appreciated.

Siberian Huskies have poor obedience and are a bit neurotic, so they need to be trained regularly in daily life or they will quickly forget. Training a Siberian Husky to shake hands can be quite a challenge, as they are very active and full of energy, like a child. However, if you succeed, it’s a very satisfying experience. Here’s how to train a Siberian Husky to shake hands.
First, you need to get your Huskies to sit quietly. Once they are sitting, gently tap their left front paw. Their natural instinct is to scratch you, and their left front paw will naturally lift up. Take advantage of this and hold their front paw, and say “shake hand”. Then, repeat this action over and over again. If your dog does not lift their left front paw when you say “shake hand”, you can try gently nudging their left front paw. Their left front paw will naturally lift up in the air, and you should continue repeating the command “shake hand!” With consistent training over time, your Huskies will develop a certain conditioned response.

Note: It’s important to remember that after training your Siberian Husky, if it performs well, give it a small treat as a reward and show your happiness, as this will make the dog feel praised and improve its training results.
